It’s time for me to think.
Wait, maybe i’ll get a drink.
first I’ll take a shower cause i stink.
then I’ll be all set up to think.

Beans
If I had a dollar
I’d buy a bag of beans,
and feed my self all week.
And if I had 10 dollars
I’d get italian food,
chinese or maybe greek
And if somehow I had
a hundred dollars I could spend
I’d fire up a bar-b-que
and invite all my closest friends
If I had a thousand dollars
(almost an unimaginable amount)
I’d spend it all on penny gum balls
(surely more than I could count!)
And if I had 10,000 dollars
I’m not sure what I would do
but If I had a million
I would buy a farm that grew
enough to feed a 100 people
and maybe some for you
If I had a billion dollars
I’d buy an island in the sea
with all the space we needed
to live quite happily
And if I had a trillion
I’d invest it don’t you know
and once I got a trillion-gillion
I’d build a ship and go
into the outer spaces
and onto other moons
And when I found the one i liked
I plant some plants and soon
There’d be so many beans,
and greek and chinese food,
That we have a big ol’ feast forever
And no one would be rude.
This one is a little bit silly right now but i think it has a good idea in it – I’ll have to work on it some more. Feedback is always welcome, by the way.

Blue Blood
I took some metal money,
coins found on the ground,
melt them in a mold I made,
and made a metal crown.
it was quarter colored silver,
with swirls from copper pennies,
and this money metal crown I made
was beautiful and heavy.
some of those I met liked my crown,
but they didn’t borrow mine,
they made their own from what they found,
and we all looked divine.
our heads and crowns united,
extensions of our bones,
we lived in silver cities
and we sat on gilded thrones.
still, some tried to ridicule us,
laughing at our pride.
they thought we might remove our crowns
and then, perhaps, we’d hide.
they didn’t seem to understand,
and maybe never would,
the thrill and joy and quiet
of our rich and deep blue blood.

Wild Hair
I’ve written a few poems for children, intended to be accompanied by illustrations. This originally had a drawing at the top and bottom but I can’t find the original so this will have to do for now.
Incidentally, If you are a friend of mine and I once emailed you a copy of the original and you still have it, please email me it back to me.
